Hey hey! I am, first and foremost, a massive tool. But, I just found out that I can import my blog into facebook. As creepy as it might be, I'm under the illusion that people a) read this blog and b) WANT to read this blog. Massive shoutout to John Feltey and Jesse D., because I know you guys both check in every so often, thanks for the comments!
On to the updating. I'm RIDICULOUSLY busy at work. Seriously. I'm doing a big study for impurities in one drug, which means I'm getting TONS of samples from a chemist in a different department. I'm almost done with my first set of samples, so once I'm done with that things will move more slowly. Our group also has another project starting up that has FOUR different groups in Chemical Research and Development working on it. So Kevin, Todd, Hong, and I have to coordinate with four different groups for this project. F'ing crazy. But work is fun, and the group I'm with remains to be awesome. The guys have given me a nickname. D-Train. And the ENTRIE API group has picked up on it, I shit you not. Everyone calls me that. Kevin had a friend come into work, and when I introduced myself she was surprised that my name was Phil, because Kevin doesn't call me that anymore. Good call on the name, Karaoke King...
Lately, I've managed to have some fun too, even with being so busy. Last Tuesday, my whole group within the department (25-30 people) went tubing on the Farmington River. It was AWESOME. Everyone should go, it was the best time. The head of the API group is Karen. After the first set of rapids on the river, it took less than 5 minutes for Jason and Kyle to dump her off the tube. The next two hours on the river were spent with everyone trying to tip everyone else. We had a huge cookout before we went tubing, with Mark coming through with flying colors on the grilling. I found out that he'll be tailgating at football games, so I'll have to track down him and Angel to share some food and beer. We also had lots of beers to drink (some of us more than others). Luckily I don't have a tiny girlish bladder like some people, and I was fine on the ride.
I took Thursday and Friday off last week because Maggie Sawyer invited me up to Vermont to hang out with her family. Talk about an awesome time. First of all, her whole family is awesome. I love her parents and her sister, and Liz's boyfriend Shawn (Sean? sorry man...) is definitely a kindred spirit. I cruised around on a 250cc dirtbike until I got the hang of it, and Saturday I was able to go with Rick, Pam, and Shawn to a root cellar back in the woods. Apparently the cellar was carbon dated as pre-Columbian, so I got to go into a structure built before 1500 A.D. Pretty sweet if you ask me. We had awesome days, great meals on the grill, and a campfire every night. Once of the best vacations I've had in a long time.
That's most of what I have going on right now. The first football game is in 9 days, and I got my tickets in, so tailgating will ensue!! I talked to Kate last night (I'm in love with her, in case that wasn't inherently obvious), and we haven't heard from anyone, so I need to try to call people and see what everyone's up too. Hooray for Thursday night games.
Good luck to all you crazy guys at preseason, including my brother. I'm sure the saxes will take good care of him. I'll be up sooner or later...maybe sooner...;-)
Till we meet again, I will ever remain...

Well, it's been a while. I graduated, after four of the best and toughest years I could possibly imagine. I started work last week, and it's awesome. My boss is fantastic, and the group I'm working with seems like a lot of fun. As soon as I finish all the training and reading I have to do, I'll be in the lab all the time, which is amazing. It's been great to see everyone again. One interesting thing...every woman I know in my age bracket is either engaged or married. No joke. It's crazy. Most of the guys in the dept. are either happily married or not getting married anytime soon (you know, those guys). My office partner Amanda is great too, we've been having a blast, and she looooooves pirates. What more could I ask for?
I'll be infrequently updating. Hopefully once I'm back on AIM (might be a while) someone will see this and read it. Until then....
Peace,
PhillyD

Well, it's been one of those weeks. Pretty much everything has gone right. No, you read that correctly. Go ahead, read it again, double check. The past week has been absolutely incredible. It all started Thursday with Holly's birthday. I got to spend the whole afternoon and evening with her, and everyone got to see her at Red Rock, so we all had an awesome night. And it was so good to see Holly and Rachel, they're so much fun. Getting to spend a solid 18 hours with my girl is definitely what I needed, I miss her so much. So, after the night of craziness I went home the next day for Good Friday church, which was good cause I haven't been home for a while. After that it was off to Jon and Katie's for Red Sox, wine, and Death to Smoochy! It was soooo good to see them, it's been a long time.
Saturday turned out to be even more awesome than I had planned on (a.k.a. sleeping in till noon) cause I got to hang with Larry and Adam. And of course Easter at home was great, followed by more hanging out with Larry. Then today brought dinner with my best girl (yaaay!) and a quick trip to the bar to with Coffill and Laura a happy birthday, followed by the start of SPRING WEEK with Sal. The beer will be FLOWING this week, my friends. We're talking epic proportions.
So, I'm just ridiculously happy right now. I'm crazy about a wonderful girl, I have the best friends in the world (esp. Sal, that guy fucking rocks my socks), and I'm totally living up the last few weeks. It's been a great past few days, and the next few are shaping up to be amazing! Be sure to catch me before graduation, so that I get a chance to give you a hug!! Viva la Revolucion!
Cheers,
PhillyD

Well, it's been up and downs lately. I'm happy about a lot of things, and sad/mad about a lot of other things. So this week's forecast looks to be a whole lot of fragile emotional moments coupled with some vulnerability and/or anger. Awesome. Definitely thought these days were behind me. Oh well. Call if you want details....

Well, things are going alright. Classes are still pissing me off, mostly because they seem USELESS (getting a job before graduation is both a good and bad thing). I have a massive lab report hanging over my head, and it's already late, so I should really finish it up tonight instead of having more fun. Which is why I'm here at my computer instead of at Syriana with MaggieMc. But hopefully I'll finish it up tonight and be able to catch up on everything tomorrow.
On an unrelated note, if you have time to go to the movies, GO SEE V FOR VENDETTA. Oh my God. Such a good movie. Natalie Portman was awesome, and Hugo Weaving was, as always, fantastic. If you've seen Equilibrium, this movie is very different, but there are enough similar revolutionary themes that you'll like one if you liked the other. I really want to get a knife set now.....
Alright, enough wasting time for now. This next week I have an (easy) exam, and a couple lab reports, so hopefully it'll be a lighter workload. Till next time,
Peace,
PhillyD

So, it's been a rough couple weeks, mentally. Things have been pretty crazy. However, this weekend was absolutely AMAZING. I had a blast at Districts. Driving 10 hours straight with Kate and Robin was amazing, we had such a blast. It didn't even feel like that long, we had so much fun. Singing Rent for 2 straight hours was fantastic. And I got to see everyone, Leigh and Kristina and Sarah. I also got to meet/reintroduce myself to some of the new kids from UNH, Jimmy and Steve and Teegan (they're all awesome, of course!). I still missed some of the crew, though, Lisa and Brie and Cam, and all the other awesome people from NH. But, the hotel was nice, and I ended up sitting as a delegate for Sacred Heart, which was pretty cool. Kate did a FANTASTIC job as president (naturally) and I got to meet some really awesome people. I have to say that my favorite new people are Gina from Kutztown, John from West Chester, and Laurin from Shippensburg. Gina and John were awesome, and we had a blast bitching about some of the people on our committee, and I had a blast talking with Laurin during the down time as a delegate. Naturally, I decided it was a great idea to get hammered out of my mind on Saturday night, so after 2 40's and a couple glasses of Eric Morsen's Dutchman (which is INSANE) I went to bed WASTED. I also called Mimi at the same time as Cody and left her a voicemail, something I don't remember doing. Then, I got 3 hours of sleep and made the 10 hour trip home with Kate and Sharon. After all the sleep deprivation of the weekend, I crashed hardcore Sunday night, but as always, it was totally worth it. I already miss all my I-Phi bros and all the awesome people I met.
So, if you're reading this and keeping tabs on me, sorry about the past couple weeks. I've been really out of it. Track me down if you want to here more, I have a pretty good grasp on what's wrong and I'm starting to try to figure out how to fix it. I'll try not to be so down and out all the time.
Six and a half weeks till graduation.....can't wait!!
